Holderness is committed to the “multiple points of contact” approach; the same faculty member who requires a close reading of a Toni Morrison novel in the morning may be a student’s soccer coach in the afternoon, a teammate in broom hockey after dinner, and an advisor throughout the year.
The role of the adviser is to provide guidance to our students in all areas of their lives on campus. The adviser works with students in many ways—from planning the year’s course load to creating study schedules; from cheerleading on the sidelines to providing a safe place to talk.
The adviser is also the point person on campus for parents. Our advisors are just a phone call away and can help parents stay connected to their children and their lives at Holderness.
