Learning Out Loud: Student-Led Conference Day
Alexandra Molloy

This year’s student-led conference day, Bulls Advancing the Dream, invites our community to move beyond remembering Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s “I Have a Dream” speech and instead consider how we actively carry that dream forward.

Rooted in Dr. King’s belief in justice, the day emphasizes the power of voice—speaking up, listening with care, and engaging thoughtfully with one another.

What is Student-Led Conference Day?

Each January, students develop presentations on a topic of their choosing and present those to our community. Through these presentations, students practice using their voices to express what matters to them.

Speaker of the Day

Our community was fortunate enough to be joined by Kijuan Amey as our keynote speaker for Student-Led Conference Day. Kijuan served ten years in the U.S. Air Force as an In-Flight Refueling Specialist, earning the rank of Staff Sergeant. A lifelong athlete, he played semi-professional football before a 2017 motorcycle accident left him blind. Through recovery and resilience, he went on to compete in adaptive sports at the Warrior Games and Valor Games, earning multiple podium finishes.

Today, he supports veterans and their families as a former Blinded Veterans Association leader, Air Force Wounded Warriors ambassador, and founder of Amey Motivation.
