With ten skaters and a goalie, Holderness did themselves proud against a Cardigan team of twenty. Bull’s goalie Sergio Yap was outstanding in the net, turning aside 39 shorts. Will Keating would earn his first assist of the season when he set up Ben Jansen for his first Holderness goal at the ten-minute mark of the second period to knot the score at 1-1. Cardigan would come back with two goals late in the second, but Will Harker would bring the team to with one just three minutes into the third period when he created a turnover in the Cardigan end of the rink and then scrapped his way to the net for the score. Although Cardigan would get two late third-period goals to seal the victory, it was never really over until it was over! Thumbs-up to Bull’s defensemen Tom Hendricks, Ben Booker and Charlie Crumbo for playing a smart defensive-minded game; bravo to Cardigan alums Matt Butchma and Sean Kim for shining against their alma mater; and well-done to forwards Nolan Sullivan and Wei Hao Cai for played some of their best hockey to date.
