Bulls tie 1st place Wildcats 3-3

Hello everybody- Happy Holidays and Happy New Year!  It's good to be back after the long Holiday break.  I typically won't write highlights during the holiday games because there are so many games in a short period of time.  Tonight we headed up to Vermont in a game that certainly tested our mental strength having had our 4th game in 3 days with not much rest in between and lots of time on the road.  The Bulls came out strong in the 1st going up 2-0 early midway through the 1st off goals from Kevin Pitts and Isaiah Fox.  A defensive breakdown behind the Bulls net led to a Vermont goal in the slot splitting the deficit to one after 1 period of play.  In the second, the Bulls would tally again off a nice rush from Alex Gagnon where he fed Harley Michaels at the point and he fired home a shot to make it 3-1 Bulls midway through the 2nd.  A bad penalty would put the Bulls shorthanded and kill their momentum when Vermont tallied on the PP towards the end of the 2nd making it 3-2 Bulls after 2 periods.  In the 3rd, Vermont would tie the score off a rebound in front with 9 minutes remaining sending the game to OT.  The Bulls dominated the overtime period and had a great 2 v 0 scoring chance, but couldn't capitalize on the opportunity.  They then held off a Vermont PP with 2 minutes left in OT to preserve the 3-3 tie.  The Bulls will be back in action on the road on Friday for a rematch vs. Lakes Region rival Proctor Academy.  The Bulls recently lost to Proctor 5-3 at the Tabor New Year's Tournament on Monday.
