The Bulls ran their unbeaten streak to five games with a solid 2-0 victory over New Hampton.  Although Holderness probably had the better field position throughout the day, New Hampton played tough defense to keep the game close.  The Bulls got their first goal when Mikey Cosgrave lined up to take a direct kick at about midfield.  Mikey’s kick was beautifully threaded through the Husky defense and onto the foot of Young Gwon who maneuvered nicely to space and knocked the ball home for the 1-0 Bulls lead.  The half would end with the score 1-0, but the strong midfield play of Finn Pilaro, Charlie Morris, Henry Richard and Steve Ju should be credited for denying New Hampton possession time and smooth transition play into the offensive half of the field.  Jake Rowan, Alex Robbins and Binh Dinh also came into the game to provide depth and fresh legs to keep the pressure on New Hampton.

To start the second half, the Bulls fell back on their heels a bit as New Hampton mounted some offensive rushes, but the every-solid defense of Spencer Glascock, Jackson Lehner, Boss Ngamkanjanarat, Charlie Crumbo and Cosgrave held steady and negated any real threats at the goal.  Holderness strikers Ethan Hayes, Brooks Reed and Alberto Bazzoni did their best to get that elusive second goal, but It took until ten minutes left in the game for the Bulls to earn some breathing room. Gwon would score his second goal of the game when he won a one-vs-one battle in the NHS box and poked the ball behind the NHS keeper for the 2-0 lead.

Goalies Alan Yu and Matt Butchma split time to earn the shutout, their third in the last four games.  Many thanks to the parents who came out to support the team today, especially to the Lehner and Hayes families for the awesome post game refreshments!  The team will try to do their part on Proctor Day next Saturday when they travel to Andover, NH for a 2:00 start.
