Holderness Earns a Team Win Away at Groton School

K. Berry
The Bulls traveled to Groton School and found their first victory of the season today. It was earned with a composed defensive unit, good ball movement in the midfield and four goals scored by four different players!
The Bulls continued to work on ball movement and off-ball movement in the game today, successfully transitioning the ball out of the defensive end with the help of a composed midfield led by junior Morgan Sisson and supported by sophomores Olivia Branch and Macy Arsenault. Andrea Reynolds netted the first goal of the game 3 minutes into the first half and carried the ball successfully up the field many times (it was her birthday too!). Mikayla Stolar, a junior, in her first game in net for the Bulls, had 6 saves by halftime and was supported by a strong defensive unit. Darby Palisi, a junior defender, showed great confidence throughout the game channeling and stepping to Groton ball carriers. At the half, the score remained 1-0. Eleven minutes into the second half Groton netted their first goal off a corner play. Senior Bee McLaughlin responded with her first goal of the season less than two minutes later. Five minutes later, senior Elise Yabroudy assisted senior Lila Schibli, in scoring her first goal of the season; this goal was quickly answered by Groton leaving the score 3-2 Bulls with eleven minutes left to play. With 9 minutes left to play, junior forward Claudia Cantin found the back of the net for the second time this season. With a minute left to play, Groton scored off a cross and the score was 4-3. The time ran out on a final Groton corner which the Bulls were able to successfully defend.
