With a depleted roster, Holderness hung there with New Hampton as long as they could until the legs got heavy. First star of the game goes to Holderness goalie Leo LaPata. Leo was called upon to make numerous close in saves and defended superbly against odd-man rushes. The Bull’s lone goal came from Tom Hendricks (his first goal of the season) on an assist by Ben Jansen. That put the score to 1-3 late in the second period, but the Bull’s ran out of gas as the game-clock ticked away. Forwards Reilly Cepuritis, Alex Oliver, Wei Hao Cai and Shawn Kim did their best against a speedy NHS team, while the defensive pair of Matt Butchma and Ben Booker battled well in from of Lapata. The team will next host Berwick Academy on Wednesday at 4:45 p.m. at the Plymouth State University rink.
