Proctor Prevails Over Holderness

It was a tough way to end the season, but credit goes to Proctor for weathering the storm and walking away with a 2-1 win.  Proctor would score early in the first half off a corner kick that the Holderness defense had trouble clearing.  Five minutes later, Holderness would get the equalizer when Ethan Hayes followed through to the net and blasted home a rebound that the Proctor goalie had failed to handle.  The played continued back and forth for the rest of the half, but neither team could score.

In the first minute of the second half, Proctor would launch a long ball that one of their speedsters scampered under and went in alone on a breakaway to take a lead 2-1.  The Bulls had thirty-four minutes to get the equalizer and did not panic.  With a few exceptions, Proctor never crossed the midfield into their offense end, and it was all Holderness.  Holderness would hit the post, kick one wide, shank a penalty kick and somehow miss an open net to come up empty in that last thirty-four minutes.  It was an exciting second half to watch, and Proctor hung on for the win.

Despite the final game setback, the team ends the fall with an admirable 4-3-2 record and a winning season.
