Holderness Falls to St. Paul's in Opening Game

Defense shows flashes of greatness, while a slow offensive start, paired with turnovers, led to a lopsided outcome
To see the Bull's take on St. Paul's this Saturday was to see two different Holderness teams play.

One team was exemplified by electric play on defense that held one of New England's top quarterbacks (Ezechiel Tiede, who has already received scholarship offers from Boston College and the University of Connecticut) to only 41 yards passing.  The other team could be seen by the offense that started with back-to-back 3-and-out drives.  When they found success, it was followed by two first half fumbles.  This second team disappeared after allowing a St. Paul's kickoff return to for a touchdown to start the second half and was replaced with what the Bulll's are working to be all the time.  Down 24-0, (half time score was 17-0, despite the major turnover deficit) the Bull's racked up over 150 yards in the air and three trips to the red zone.  Unfortunately, those 3 trips only led to 7 points.

Moving forward to Tilton, Holderness has a lot of work to do in order to take on the league's fastest team.  In order to move on, the Bull's need to see how close they were to making this an incredibly tight game.  Clean up the red zone issues (1 of 5 in the red zone), 2 fumbles, the muffed punt, and 2 bad snaps leading to turnovers.  Not the game report that screams success, but one that shows potential when considering the outcome despite the many mistakes.  The effort was there.  Now time to execute!
