Mittersill Performance Center Ready for Winter

Andrew Herring
Holderness skiers have reason to celebrate this winter with the recent completion of the Mittersill Performance Center, a 9,200 square foot lodge at the base of Mittersill Slopes at Cannon Mountain. Designed by architect Evan Mullen ‘00, the lodge features dedicated space for alpine ski racing and training and includes ample gear storage, video review rooms, coaches’ offices, and ski tuning rooms.
Mittersill Slopes and the Mittersill Performance Center are the result of a fantastic partnership between Holderness School, Franconia Ski Club, Cannon Mountain and the State of New Hampshire, and the US Ski Team. Over the last six years, these organizations have raised nearly $7,000,000 to add snowmaking, install a new t-bar lift, and regrade two race trails at Mittersill. With the completion of the Mittersill Performance Center, this partnership has transformed ski racing in the Northeast.

In addition to being a training and racing venue for Holderness School’s Eastern Alpine skiers, Mittersill now has the necessary facilities to host prestigious ski races like NCAA carnivals, Nor-Am Cup races, and US Championships.
