Mountains and Rivers Without End: Another Epic Mountain Day

Greg Kwasnik
How much does Holderness School love the outdoors? Enough for students and faculty to spend an entire day each fall – Mountain Day – climbing mountains, paddling rivers, and scaling rock faces throughout New Hampshire’s rugged White Mountains.
On the crystal-clear morning of September 20, the school’s 300+ students and faculty departed campus for the school’s annual Mountain Day. Spread out across the mountains in small groups, members of the Holderness community climbed to the highest summits of the Presidential Range, paddled down the Saco River, and scaled cliffs in Crawford Notch. Along the way, they took hundreds of photos, hiked a collective 1,367 miles, and forged countless new friendships.
