After three cancellations due to snow covered fields, the Bulls opened their season today with a quality win against Proctor. Owning a slim 5-3 lead a half, Holderness turned up the defense in the second half allowing Proctor only one goal. First star of the game goes to Holderness goalie Stephen Griffith who had twelve saves on the afternoon and cleared the ball with confidence and precision. It was great to see the attack of Glascock, Switzer, Reed and Pollini share the ball and put up points throughout the afternoon. Strong close-D play by Heinzer, Krahmer, Bowen and Heyburn stymied the Proctor offense, forcing turnovers and difficult shot selection. We ran four midfield lines today and got everyone into the action. Still plenty of work to be done on composure, ground-balls and decision making, but it was great to get on a field with the sun shining and show that our hard work in practice had paid off. The Bulls will next host Brewster Academy on Saturday at 2:30.
