The addition of a new academic building will allow Hagerman to be renovated around the principles of flexibility, innovation, and collaboration. This will allow former labs to be converted to classroom space, satisfy the needs of our theater and performing arts program and include a new makerspace*.
*Makerspaces combine manufacturing equipment, community, and education for the purposes of enabling community members to design, prototype and create manufactured works that wouldn’t be possible to create alone. Theater oriented makerspaces are where scenery and props/properties are fabricated, painted and assembled for theatrical production.
The addition of a new academic building will also change how the space is used in Schoolhouse. The renovations will include larger faculty planning and administrative areas, reduce classroom number to increase the overall size and layout, and create new breakout/collaboration rooms.
