NORDIC CLUb
The Holderness School Nordic Club was established in the early 90’s to promote community youth cross country skiing at all levels. With 10km of cross country ski trails–5km of which are homologated–and world-class snowmaking, our trails are among the best in the country.
Nordic Club membership provides for seasonal access to the Holderness School cross country ski trails. Members are expected to follow any existing trail restrictions that may be in effect on a given day (e.g. only skiing on certain trails during a race, classic skiing only on designated trails, or trail closure due to weather conditions). As a general rule, if it is raining, we will close the trails.
Club membership is only for access to the ski trails. Please do not use the Nordic house or Athletic Field House. There are no bathroom facilities.
Please no walking or dogs on the trails.
In addition to the seasonal memberships Holderness School Nordic Club programs have grown to include:
- Bill Koch Youth League – For grades K-8, featuring a two day a week after school program.
- Middle School Team – In collaboration with the Holderness Central School, for grades 5-8 which meets three days a week and includes racing with other NH middle school teams.
- Eastern Cup Support – Providing coaching support to area high school athletes at NENSA Eastern Cup race weekends (email holdernessnordic@gmail.com for additional information).
Members are strongly encouraged to join the New England Nordic Ski Association Your membership in NENSA goes a long way towards improving Nordic ski recreational and racing opportunities in New England.
As a volunteer run organization, it is anticipated that all members contribute some time to further the goals of Holderness Nordic. Many members help in running races while others help out during periodic trail work days.
PARKING
Club members may park in the lot closest to the Nordic house whenever space is available. Ideal times to park and ski will be when our students are in academic classes on Monday, Wednesday, Friday & Saturday mornings, Tuesday and Thursday afternoons, Sunday, and whenever school is not in session.
Please refrain from using the parking lot during school athletic game days which are typically Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday afternoons. Alternative parking within walking distance to the trails is available in the overflow lot next to our turf field up Mt. Prospect Rd.
