Edwards Art Gallery

The Edwards Art Gallery at Holderness School is made possible by a bequest from the estate of James Edwards, Class of 1927, and is located in the Carpenter building. The gallery aims to showcase artwork by student, faculty, staff, alumni, and local artists focusing on exhibits that enhance school curriculum. The building also houses our visual arts classes.

While you're there, visit the Student Heide Gallery just down the hallway.

The works in this exhibition focus on both endangered plant species native to New England and imagined, yet-to-be-discovered species. For the endangered species works, each piece begins with a cut-out stencil derived from plants listed as endangered in the region. Ritchie develops the final images by abstracting and layering these forms through cyanotype and silkscreen processes.
