At Holderness, there is more to a student’s college search than identifying an appropriate list of colleges. To find the colleges that best match their individual interests and talents, students should have a clear sense of their values, interests, motivators, and goals.

The more students know—about personal inclinations and college profiles—the more confident they will be in leading their college searches. It’s a confidence that will empower them to manage many school–related responsibilities, as well as think more creatively about the choices available now and in the future.

Each year, nearly one hundred representatives from colleges and universities in the United States, Canada, and other countries visit the Holderness campus to meet with students and talk about their college searches.

If you are a college representative interested in a visit to Holderness, please visit or email Joan Barnum at
