On Saturday the Mountain Bike team travelled to Vermont Academy for the New England League Championships. It was cold, wet, and muddy, and the Holderness riders tackled the course like the heros they are. As the race progressed, the trails changed from solid to semi-liquid, so every racer had to re-learn how to ride on each lap. We spun-out on climbs, skidded through corners, and occasionally fell over into the slop. The bikes and uniforms finished the race covered in brown, but the smiles shone through. Holderness finished fourth of 16 teams, beating our rivals Proctor for the first time this year. Our top five point-scorers were: Jack Diemar, Johnny Schaeffler, Reid Donovan, Clayton Surber and Tri-Captain Sacha Levine in her final league race.
