  • Donor Advised Fund (DAF)

A donor-advised fund (DAF) is a type of giving program that allows you to combine the most favorable tax benefits with the flexibility to easily support your favorite charities. An increasingly popular charitable vehicle, DAFs are an excellent way to both simplify your charitable giving and facilitate your strategic philanthropic goals.

    How does it work?
    • Establish your DAF by making an irrevocable, tax-deductible donation to a public charity that sponsors a DAF program
    • Advise the investment allocation of the donated assets (any investment growth is tax-free)
    • Recommend grants to qualified public charities of your choice
  • Gifts of Cash

Most gifts to Holderness come in the form of cash. Such gifts entitle you to a federal income tax charitable deduction if you itemize your return. To make a cash gift, make your check payable to Holderness School and mail it to the following address:

    Holderness School
    Office of Advancement
    PO Box 1879
    Plymouth, NH 03264-1879

To wire-transfer funds to Holderness, you must provide your bank with specific routing information from Holderness School. Please ask your bank to include specific information regarding the designation of your gift with the wire transfer.

For routing information, or if you should have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact Tim Platt in the Advancement office. She can be reached at (603) 779-5325 or

  • Gifts of Securities

Some donors choose to give securities (usually appreciated securities) to Holderness School. If you are preparing to transfer assets to the school, please notify Tim Platt (603) 779-5325. Making this contact will ensure that your gift is properly credited and that you receive the appropriate tax deduction for charitable contributions.

  • Recurring Gifts

Recurring gifts are an extremely convenient way to donate to the school. This option allows you to transfer a specified amount to the school from your bank account or credit card at regular intervals. The benefits of recurring gifts are two-fold: you do not have to remember to take action during each of your preferred donation periods, and the school is able to plan more accurately for potential uses of your gift. If you would like to set up a recurring gift to the school, please notify Tim Platt (603) 779-5325.
