Winter 2007-2008 Athletic Assembly We held our end-of-the-season Winter 2007-2008 Athletic Assembly on April 1, celebrating the hard work and success of our winter teams, athletes, and coaches. As Athletic Director Lance Galvin '90 stated, we enjoyed a successful season, both in the spirit, sportsmanship, and dedication our athletes displayed, as well as our success on the rink, the trails, the slopes, and the court. Our own Eastern skiing and varsity baseball coach (and Assistant Head, Dean of Faculty, teaching faculty, dorm parent, and all-around good guy) Mr. Macomber was our guest speaker. He talked about how athletics had shaped his experience as a student and as an adult, using some great stories to illustrate his points. "Athletics for me is about family, friends, team, the palpable nature of winning and losing, and the fact that - in the end - it's a recess from other things in life," he said.
