Boston Gathering Honoring Lew Overaker, 5/3/2008 Thank you Dr. Overaker! Saturday night in Boston at the Somerset Club dozens of alums, colleagues, board members, former colleagues, and friends met to honor Dr. Overaker for his 32 inspirational years of service to Holderness School. In addition to all the socializing, there were several memorable presentations. Will Prickett, class of 1981 and Holderness School Board Chair Elect, shared how for generations Lew has made "family" a word that is truly applicable for Holderness. Jim Connor, class of 1974 and former colleague of Dr. Overaker's for 17 years, shared many colorful Lew stories, and talked about what an inspiration Dr. Overaker has been for all of us fortunate to learn with and from his model. Norm Walker, a colleague of Lew's for 23 years, shared a moving poem about Dr. Overaker that Ms. Brewer will be using in her English II class this week. Finally, Martha Macomber and Brett Phillips put together a wonderful DVD of students, faculty, alums, and board members sharing why we will never forget Dr. Overaker. 1 2 [Next >>]
