Special Programs 2006

In the month of March, Holderness students take part in something called Special Programs. These programs are designed to provide rigorous artistic, social, physical, and intellectual challenges, broadening students' experience of themselves and the world in which they live.

    Out Back 2006
    New Hampshire's White Mountain National Forest is never more beautiful - nor forbidding - than it is in March. This is the setting for Out Back, a 10-day program in outdoor education.

  • Habitat for Humanity 2006
    Each year in March, groups of Holderness students - mostly sophomores - travel several hundred miles to Virginia. There they work for two weeks as volunteers for Habitat for Humanity.

  • Artward Bound 2006
    For two weeks in March of each year, Holderness is transformed from a school into an art colony thanks to Artward Bound, a nationally recognized visual and performing arts program. It is a unique opportunity for all freshmen and new sophomores to explore the arts with eight artists-in-residence for ten days of uninterrupted creative work.

    For two weeks each March, several seniors are given early exposure to the academic demands of college through Senior Colloquium.
